Moving away from tickets and coins was the only way to go
Will Mossontte, the owner of three bowling centers in California, knew quarters and cash were not the best for his customers in a post-COVID environment. After hearing about Amusement Connect from an operator, he began his search for game card systems and compared estimates from multiple vendors.
Dramatically increasing arcade revenue and eliminating downtime:
Will Mossontte chose Amusement Connect after comparing estimates and receiving recommendations from Betson, their arcade vendor. With the option to save money by installing the system himself, the decision was clear to him. “Being able to service it and install myself was huge and with all the other companies, that wasn’t really an option.”
When he was installing the system, he found the issues with coin jams were more significant than he could have imagined. “Most customers weren’t telling us right away, and the staff wasn’t that good on investigating the problems themselves.”
With so many variables to measuring the ROI from card systems, Will quickly validated the financial impact. Without changing out a single game, his arcade revenue jumped from $4,000 in January of 2020 to $14,000 in January of 2022. “To have that dramatic of an increase, the first thing I thought was, why did I wait so long? and how much money did I miss out on by not installing the card system sooner?”
Will’s recommendation to other owners and operators is, “It really is a no-brainer. It will pay for itself quicker than you can blink your eyes and the issues it alleviates with the coin jams, ticket jams, and any issues like that is a no-brainer—I can’t say it enough.”
His favorite feature with Amusement Connect is the online reporting. “I literally can pull it up within two seconds on my phone and know exactly what the games are doing; I can get alerts if the games are having issues; if the kiosk is having issues, then get in contact with the managers or staff ASAP to completely eliminate any downtime that we may have.”
Why does Will recommend Amusement Connect? “Ease of operation. Ease of installation. The cost.” It sounds like a no-brainer to us too.
